Roxana Sobańska known as RoXy Rox is a titled Musician, talented Flutist with 19 years of music experience, laureate at many international and national music competitions, trance DJ with her inseparable flute. The artist takes her audience into the blissful world of trance (tech/psy/classic/hard) accompanied by flute sound spirals, leading them to music depths of Flute Live Act.

Artistic achievements and experience

Thanks to so many artistic achievements she was granted a prestigious Scholarship programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage  „Young Poland 2016” by National Centre for Culture in Warsaw. Moreover, in 2014 she was granted a scholarship by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Warsaw for outstanding artistic achievements. In academic years 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 she was granted scholarships by the President of Academy of Music in Cracow.

The flutist began her music adventure at the age of 7 and since childhood years she has been successful in over 40 international and national flute competitions winning, among other things, 1st prize in 6th Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione Musicale „Giovanni Musicisti”– Citta di Treviso in Italy, twice 2nd prize in 11th and 12th International Independent Music Competition „Individualis” in Kiev-Ukraine, 2nd prize in Concorso Musicale Internazionale „Melos” in Sesto al Reghena in Italy, 2nd and 3rd prize in „eMuse” Music Competition in Athens, Greece, twice 1st prize in 6th and 7th Polish Flute Festival in Sieradz, 1st and twice 2nd prize in 11th, 12th and 14th Wind Instruments Confrontation in Oława, 1st prize in 11th Silesian Woodwind Instruments Contest in Dąbrowa Górnicza and many other rewards and prizes awarded by outstanding personages of flute music. In 2014 Roxana qualified to one of the most prestigious flute competitions in the world IV International Flute Competition 2014 under the patronage of Krzysztof Penderecki in Cracow.

Education

Graduate of the Academy of Music in Cracow. Roxana graduated with a reward at the faculty of Instruments in Flute Class prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Kamionka. Moreover, she is a graduate of Karol Szymanowski State Music School of the 2nd degree in Katowice, State Music School of the 1st degree in Ruda Śląska and Sports School No. 2 in Chorzów, from which she graduated with a reward.

Artistic Cooperation

The flutist performs as a soloist and 1st flute in symphony orchestra in Poland, China, Germany, Austria, Italy. She cooperated with outstanding conductors and composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Tadeusz Strugała, Maciej Tworek, Kalman Strausz, Michał Maciaszczyk, Xia Xiaotang, Szymon Bywalec, Marek Chołoniewski, Ahn Hyunjung. She has perfected her art flute during numerous Masterclasses, flute workshops carried out by outstanding professors – flutists, among others Barbara Świątek-Żelazna, Jerzy Mrozik, Antoni Wierzbiński, Lars Asbjornsen, Peter-Lukas Graf, Wally Hase, Kazimierz Moszyński, Wiesław Suruło, Cezary  Traczewski, Łukasz Długosz, Agata Kielar-Długosz, Katarzyna Bury.
She cooperated many times with the president of the  International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music (ICEM) during the International Festival of Cracow Composers under the patronage of prof. dr hab. Jacek Majchrowski the President of Cracow. Roxana is the author of several productions of experimental music for the needs of among others a TV programme dealing with design. She receives wide recognition among classical music personages.

Trance DJ

However, first sounds she had heard were those of trance music. She grew up listening to ATB, Sequential One tracks, when she was only 6. With time she developed her knowledge of trance music, basing on the works of artists such as: Cosmic Gate, Jonas Steur, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Rank 1, Markus Schulz, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Arnej, Ferry Corsten. Trance also accompanies her in the world of classical music. Trance became her great passion which she has been developing since 2012.

The artist showed her innovative artistic project at the event Silesia in Love in Chorzow (counterpart of Ruhr In Love in Oberhausen) in 2013, performing both as a DJ and flutist at the same time. Her unconventional performance connecting classical music with trance and hard trance was perceived positively not only by Polish audience but also by foreign guests. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 Roxana captivated souls as an organizer of the scene The Magical World Of Sound at Silesia in Love in Park Slaski in Chorzow. RoXy Rox accelerated the heart beat serving the magic elixir in the clubs & events in Poland and abroad.
